I know nothing about aviation except that planes are really cool. I had to throw my favorite car of the show in as well.

Both of those Bonanzas, the V-tailed planes, are old, probably early ‘40s models. Neither has the long third window which was standard on later variants.

I have a strong want for one of these, but everyone tells me to wait until I have some hours under my belt. It’s like buying a corvette for your first car.

There’s a reason they got nicknamed the doctor killer. They also killed many rockstars.

In most cases they were flown beyond Vne (never exceed speed), developed a flutter in the stabilizers which then failed. The problem  was addressed with an airworthiness directive which stipulated a repair which prevented the flutter and subsequent structure failure. All of the airworthy aircraft have had this repair. Can’t get an airworthiness certificate without it.
